Slice-of-life shows have a way of making me feel at ease, my shoulders drop from alert to relaxed, I shift from the edge of my seat to slightly leaning back. What a luxury it is to be able to relax, every once in a while. I was recently watching the newly released episodes of Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You. The show portrays the casual friendship formed between a supermarket employee and an office worker. One is buying groceries before heading home; other taking a smoke break. It captures the day-to-day humdrum of life and how both of them find respite in each other’s company at the supermarket smoke-zone. The fact that they go to office, work, eat and so on makes their life more human, as if moving at the same pace as us as; they living with the same human constraints makes it more inspiring in the absurd way. It feels more realistic.

Life Changes: I am planning to move out soon, which means I have to the troublesome chore of trying to sell off accumulated furniture via online groups and forums.

Notes on self:
– When people ask what I’m up to, I usually default to what’s happening around me or how people in relation to me are doing, so I will talk either about friends or family. It is surprisingly hard to talk about myself. Either I feel like I have not done anything (which is not true) or I just blank out. Clearly, I need to work on getting to know myself better.
– Also, my productivity and interest in my personal project saw a gradual drop from Monday to Thursday. I did get a Monday boost by co-working. Should I have taken Wednesday off and worked on something else? (File under: debugging)

Things I learnt past week:
– I was sincerely studying the animal kingdom, the 9 Phyla, for ulterior motives : D Sadly, the only content available on this topic was mostly by NEET educators and I didn’t like their education style, it was quite dry and brain-off styled in the sense to not think outside the box and not ask basic questions. I did a find a small good video about on this topic by Amoeba Sisters.
– Sir Humphry Davy once said, “Michael Faraday was his great discovery.” I found that sweet.
– It took 11 years to get to the understanding of electro-magnetic field (Faraday’s laws) after the first experiment showing a magnetic field is generated when a current is passing in a wire, as demonstrated by Ørsted. These were partly accidental observations.

Things I would like to do by next week:
– finish my project to 80%
– define one life term, as in what it means to me, what is love, what is life
– set up feed reader, set up YT feed.

Have a good night,
Calra
