Firstly I start by recapping 2024 by the highlights of the last year:
Things I am proud of:
– Took my parents for the first time abroad, did a family trip.
– Started going to therapy
– Went to a sports academy and learnt table tennis from a coach and got decent enough at the movements I learnt.
– Joined a One Book A Week book buddy program and read a good number.
– Joined a buddy accountability program for day to day planning, it worked well in keeping track of daily logs.
– Met amazing set of new people and made good friends, finally a book crew.
-In the lost and found department, there’s always love, well it’s currently still in the lost department, well apart from every possible hobby I could pick.
– Travelled well enough to experience and grow, and feel peace. Loved Goa, loved Verona, Milano was okay, almost bustling like Bangalore, so not novelty, Munich was nice.
– Moving out to a single apartment.
– Learning Tango and meeting the community.
For 2025, I plan to take better care of my health and get some regular exercise!
I hope Gemini Live is able to help me all year around, I like it.
Books:
Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
I read Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. It is a novella, a person wakes up one day to find himself turned into a vermin. It’s an interesting plot on the working member of the family and how different members (mother, father and sister) cope with this. I am not sure if one could comment in black and white the ethicality of the caregiver’s actions. To hide oneself, so others are not disgusted by you, to take such measures at the cost of self.
If I am experiencing Kafka or wanting to live through it, does it make me a sadist? Am I looking for sadness?
Will I wish for death of a person, if I am bound to look after someone?
Kafka enters into your psyche and brings forth the gray matter into light and forces you to ponder over.
Would like to attach my 2025 reading list here, for accessibility. 5 mins later….
..and I have no idea how to insert images in WordPress, the image file is 75kb so definitely not size error, maybe it’s smaller than minimum?
Ah copy pasted from my notes, text based format still.
Have an interesting year ahead!
Cheers,
Calra
