Our lives are short, short like a morning run.

Pick a side:
One of the takeaways after some rumination has been, choose an effing side! It sounds morally righteous to be “fair” – be the judge – to give chance to both sides to represent equal facts. What’s the price are you paying by not choosing a side? And who told you choosing a side was a bad thing? But by not choosing a side, we are losing out on a lot. If you fail to identify with no group, you are literally on your own. And although it seems like the lonely wolf path one might wanna take and at times it might feel right, it’s not worth it. It might take a while to find something you associate with, took me twenty-five effing years (and yes, I am mad, rant for another post), so don’t worry, there are people and you are not alone.
On similar notes,
Victor Hugo says “You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life” ~ refined version of the thought in my last post about “value of a person based on the enemy one makes”. And Simon Sinek, talks about same thing in his latest episode with DOAC, about why there is so much divide or identity politics. It’s because people are lonely and identifying with any one of these social issues gives them credibility to make connections, to be invited to those elite meetups and clubs.
At first, I was on the “neutral” side, that this is not right, that we should come up with a better solution because I was still being the judge. But after really finding people like me, the world is better and more hopeful? I really wanna live and learn more, the diversity of the people in the group itself is so vast, it’s amazing to know them, all of them and to learn.
With the disappearance of religious congregations, where one could be social, these are the new hangout places to be social with the best chance of meeting new people and forming bonds and connections. And I took my sweet time to choose a side that I could relate to, I kept hopping places being neutral, I think I am gonna make a stop here and be gay that I found people 🙂
Mayans believed that people came from corn, so Mexican culture is more corn-centered, with tacos, nachos and tortillas. Corn symbolizing seasons of life, and going back to Earth after dying.
