Road Rage, ft. Mock Mad

A case against being mock mad.

Road rage, is an emotion, almost universally acknowledged by riders and ridees of all vehicle classes. It’s completely accepted in our indian society. Based on the vehicle size, one gets a good quota of expressing the rage.

Pedestrian? a cycle crosses you swiftly by the side,
you cuss

Cycle? an auto overtakes and cuts you off,
acceptably mad.

Car? an auto drives too close, it’s a social game,
you glare.

A two wheeler? you are playing maze path finding in the stuck traffic and pissing everyone off.

If all of this is okay and acceptable, what’s the case about?

The case is about when a situation happens, which calls the driver to be mad, but the driver chooses not to or isn’t bothered by it at all. But the co-passengers start cussing. Perhaps I am taking the high ground, but I sincerely feel there are enough things in our “fair” world to be truly mad about.

One can argue, being mock mad can invite the driver to actually express their true emotions. But my counter is, if they are the driver, they have been on road enough to discern when to pounce.

I believe the driver has the sole and only right to be enraged by the roadlings and their mischiefs. I also support my current belief on the fact that the driver has the highest visibility and attention on the road while driving, other passengers only get a narrow, scoped, partially present view.
